Karel Janeček
Karel Janeček is a mathematician, educator, anti-corruption fighter and philanthropist. He received his MBA Degree from Bradley University, Illinois (USA), and is a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague, where he majored in the theory of probability and mathematical statistics. He also earned a PhD. Degree in Mathematical Finance at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (USA). He has served as a Research Scientist at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and in 2006, started lecturing at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague. He established the Karel Janeček Benevolent Fund, later to be renamed the Neuron Fund for the Support of Science and founded the Anti-Corruption Endowment aimed at giving a helping hand to victims of fraud, aggression and irrational bureaucracy.
